The Coral Reef Restaurant is a table service restaurant inside The Seas with Nemo & Friends pavilion.

History and Description

The Coral Reef Restaurant opened with the rest of The Living Seas pavilion on January 15, 1986 [1]. The restaurant was designed to allow guests to look inside the pavilion's Caribbean Coral Reef aquarium while they dined. In fact, the seating inside the restaurant is tiered to insure that everyone has a good view of the aquarium[2].

The first major change to the Coral Reef Restaurant occurred on August 10, 1998 when the restaurant closed for a 1.5 million dollar refurbishment [3]. During the renovations, the restaurant was moved upstairs to the former United Technologies corporate lounge. During the refurbishment the dining location's color scheme and original wood was removed, and the decor was lightened. The Coral Reef Restaurant reopened in its original location on September 14, 1998 [3].

In 2005, when The Living Seas closed and underwent a major transformation into The Seas with Nemo & Friends, the Coral Reef Restaurant remained operational [4].
