Opening with the rest of Sunset Boulevard on June 12, 1994, the Sunset Ranch Market originally consisted of three quick service stands: Rosie's Red Hot Dogs, Anaheim Produce and Cataline Eddies <ref> http://www.florida-project.com/images/guidemaps/ds/disney-mgm-studios-guidemap-1994-05.jpg </ref>. Later editions to the market included Sunset Ranch Turkey Legs in 1998 <ref name= "tripod"> http://www.florida-project.com/images/guidemaps/ds/disney-mgm-studios-guidemap-1994-05.jpg </ref> and Fairfax Fries (which served McDonald's French fries) in 1998 <ref name= "yester"> http://www.yesterland.com/mcwdw.html </ref>. The next year, on August 23, 1999, Hollywood Scoops (an ice cream shop)opened <ref> https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2012/08/vintage-walt-disney-world-hollywood-scoops-opens/ </ref>.

In 2001, Toluca Legs turkey Company replaced Sunset Ranch Turkey Legs <ref name= "tripod"/>. Next, on March 14, 2009 Fairfax Fries closed, due to the end of the strategic partnership agreement between McDonald's and Disney <ref name= "yester"/>. Following the closure of Fairfax Fries, Toluca Legs Turkey Company relocated to the fry stand's former location. Subsequently, a new stand named Fairfax Faire opened in the former Toluca Legs Turkey Company Location <ref name= "yester"/>.

On August 1, 2016, Toluca Legs Turkey Company closed. Two days later, a new stand called Sunshine Day Cafe opened in its place<ref> http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/toluca-legs-turkey-co/ </ref>..
