Attraction History and Description When Disney announced plans for the Fantasyland Expansion at the 2009 D23 Expo, Pete's Silly Sideshow was not included. Instead, the area that would eventually become Pete's Silly Sideshow was earmarked for Pixie Hollow, an area based on the Disney Fairies franchise . By 2011 however plans for the expansion had changed. Due to the perception that New Fantasyland focused too much on princesses and other "feminine" characters , the land was reworked.
