Attraction History and Description The Boneyard Playground opened with the rest of Disney's Animal Kingdom on April 22, 1998. The Boneyard features two sides. One one side, younger guests can play on slides, tunnels, and a rope climbing area. The area also features dinosaur footprints that play music when stepped on, a jeep, and a set of dinosaur ribs that play music when knocked on. If guests cross the bridge that has built into a brachiosaurus skeleton, they can enter the excavation area. Here, young kids can play the role of archaeologist as they search through the large sandbox for dinosaur bones. T-Rex, triceratops, and wooly mammoth bones can all be dug up here.
