The Royal Anandapur Tea Company is a quick service stand in the Asia section of Disney's Animal Kingdom.

History and Description[edit]

The Royal Anandapur Tea Company opened on December 18, 2005 [1]. Taking its name from the village that most of the Asia section of the park is set in, the quick service stand sells Joffrey's coffee, tea and pastries. Since opening, the Royal Anandapur Tea Company has not seen any major changes.

Connection To Expedition Everest[edit]

In the early years of Anandapur, the Royal Anandapur Tea Company shipped its tea from Serka Zong and through the Forbidden Mountain pass by train. After a series of mysterious accidents (rumored to have been caused by the Yeti), the railroad was closed [2].

Fun Facts and Trivia[edit]

  • The booking office in Expedition Everest's queue was once the headquarters of the Royal Anadapur Tea Company [3].
  • As guests explore the area around the village of Serka Zong (where Expedition Everest is located), they can find tea growing on the slopes of the mountains. This was formally a tea plantation owned by the Royal Anandapur Tea Company [3].
